Anti-Aging Products When You Are Over 40

By Markus SkupeikaAnti-aging products and great skin when you are 40 (and up) No, theres nothing you can do about the aging process. Youcannot reverse it. But you can try to slow it down, gracefully. There are rejuvenation alternatives; however you shoulddetermine how far you can stick up for those. The longer youadhere to un-natural means of combating aging, the deeperyoull be digging on your pockets. Good skin tone, even after 40, is a natural by-product ofproper skin care. Proper skin care goes skin deep, too; foodrich in micronutrients, which can prevent cellular andmolecular damage, have long lasting effect on skin rejuvenationthan all clinically-performed rejuvenation procedures combined.Anti-aging products can do wonders, too. Why do the skin age drastically when a woman reaches 40? Premature aging of the skin does not happen overnight. The skinnaturally ages with time, but aging can be sped up by variousexternal and internal factors; the good news: aging can also beslowed down by skin care products for women. The suns UV rays, even on cloudy days, can cause irreversibledamage on the skin. It is advisable to put on sun block withhigh sun protection factor on exposed areas of the body, faceand neck. Too much exposure to the sun causes the skin to dryand for wrinkles to become more pronounced. A womans reproductive hormones diminish when she reaches 40.Due to hormonal imbalance, the skin can lose its elasticitywhich will induce the skin to sag. Wrinkles start to show. A womans production of sebum, which lubricates the skin, slowsdown when she reaches 40. As her skin loses its firmness, andstarts to sag, her face takes on a different shape or contour, which can make her look older. The Skins Defense Just like habits, proper skin care or the loss of it developswith time. To play down premature aging, it is advisable forwomen in their 40s to start a skin care regimen now, if theyhave not done so in the past. Use sunscreen. This is paramount protection against theinvasive effects of the suns UV rays on the skin; anti wrinkleskin care products. have high SPF factor, check out your onlinepharmacy today! Take vitamins. Vitamins C and E boost the bodys immunesystem and protect cells and tissues from free radicals; Moisturize. Moisturizers keep the skin hydrated, thusminimizing dryness, which causes wrinkles; glycerin, honey andother natural humectants are very good on the skin, as well asother facial skin care products. Go easy on cosmetics: Too much make-up may not be good forall skin types; contrary to the common belief that facialfoundation can cover most of facial skins imperfections, itcan actually make some people look older. Go for lighterapplication of your make-up, you would look younger; Opt for mild skin care products. Aging skin is dry andsensitive. Strong ingredients in facial cleansers andastringents may aggravate the skins condition. The alcoholcontent in some astringents may worsen the skins dryness. There is hope for aging skin; not the fabled fountain of youth, but ones dedication to nurture the skin and let it agenaturally, wonderfully. Aging, after all, is a process everyonegoes through, and looking ageless is not much on the physicalplane but on ones outlook towards life, love and living.About the Author: Discover thelatesthttp://www.thisthatandeverything.com facial skin careproducts that have no chemicals. The Greatest Benefit Of Colon Cleansing

One of the stories that has been bantered around after JohnWaynes death from Cancer was that at his autopsy they removedover 35 pounds of impacted fecal matter from his colon. It is hard to discern if this is urban legend or fact. However,if this is true you can certainly understand how this wastecould have adversely affected his health. How much undigested food and waste material is being held inyour colon? When we think of cleansing we have to keep in mind that thebody has seven channels of elimination. Just like you wouldclean your entire house you should also undertake a regimen ofcleansing all of your channels of elimination. These channelsare the liver, lungs, lymphatic system, blood, skin, colon andkidneys. A cleanse which focuses on only one of the channels ofelimination is akin to deciding that you are only going to cleanthe closets in your house. A constipated colon is one in which the transit time of food ismore than 24 hours. Transit time is the length of time it takesfor food to enter the mouth and exit the rectum. The basicprinciple of good digestive health is that you should put foodin and wihin 24 hours that food should come out as waste. The naturopathic perspective is that the longer the transittime of food, the longer these toxins stay in our digestivetract which permits proteins to putrefy, fats to get rancid, and carbohydrates to ferment. Regardless how you look at it this cannot be healthy for yourbody. The longer your body is exposed to these toxins in yourintestines, the greater the risk of developing disease. Stop and think about this. If you have only one bowel movement per day, you will have allof the other meals that you ate over the last 24 hoursputrefying in your intestines. This is called intoxification. It is poisoning from within. The inability to purge toxins fromour systems. What we all need to understand is that the reason whyconstipation is dangerous to our health is that our bodies aredesigned to absorb whatever is in the digestive tract. If youput good healthy nutrition there the body will absorb it.Likewise, if you put putrefying, toxic waste there the bodywill absorb that as well. The best way to start a cleansing program is by cleansing yourcolon. After you begin your colon cleansing program you mightalso want to consider maintenance program with colonhydrotherapy. The Stop Dieting Diet: Forget Everything You've Read

By: Richard Helfant "You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it." - Margaret Thatcher"One swallow does not a summer make." - Aristotle"Fed Up!" read the cover of Newsweek, which went on to ask, "Is there anything left we can eat?" No area of health has been more confusing and misunderstood than diet and nutrition, especially as related to cholesterol levels and the risk of heart disease. The message is everywhere. Good Morning America is featuring weight-loss tips every day this month. AOL tells its subscribers via e-mail that it's "Time to lose your spare tire." Magazines lining grocery aisles exhort you to "Lose 10 pounds this month!"According to US News, Americans spend more than $33 million a year on diet books, foods, programs, gadgets and DVDs in the hopes of losing weight. Yet, about two thirds of the American population remains overweight. Some 30 percent are obese and half of them are dieting. So, it's become crystal clear that dieting does not work! The solution is simple: stop obsessing about every morsel you put in your mouth. Most people think that eating properly means cutting out everything they love, and thus feeling deprived and dissatisfied. But the facts are that eating healthily and reducing weight does not have to involve pain and sacrifice. In all likelihood, many of your favorite foods are healthy, and many of your favorite recipes can be modified easily to become healthy. Proper eating requires only a few simple adjustments. You need follow only one rule and keep one commitment. The rule: cut down the fat by making simple substitutions. This decreases not only cholesterol levels but also the number of calories. The commitment: Set aside your preconceived notions about food and become a thoughtful eater. Being a thoughtful eater mans thinking clearly and objectively about the food you eat; making adjustments and substitutions more knowledgeably and comfortably; experimenting and learning what works best for you; introducing changes over time rather than abruptly; AND, allowing for slips. Being a thoughtful eater also means becoming interested in learning relevant information about food and health.Below are some suggestions for dietary changes. These are meant as general guidelines. You may want to adjust some or make other changes in your own eating plan.Seven Substitutions:l. Use skim or low-fat milk and cheese and nonfat yogurt in place of whole mile and regular cheese, butter of ice cream.2. Eat more fish and chicken (with the skin removed) and complex carbohydrates such as pasta, brown rice and whole-grain bread. Eat lean cuts of mean with the fat trimmed, and in smaller (e.g. 4-ounce) portions.3. Use egg whites and/or egg substitutes instead of egg yolks.4. Avoid high-cholesterol foods such as liver, kidney, brain and sweetbreads.5. Cut back on processed meats such as sausage, bologna, corned beef, pastrami, salami and hot dogs. Try chicken or turkey breasts with mustard instead of butter and mayo.6. Adopt healthier methods of cooking: boil, stream, broil, roast or bake instead of frying.7. Choose salad dressings and sauces made with olive oil and soy and avoid saturated oils. Flavor your meals with herbs and seasonings instead of butter and fatty sauces.Lastly, by making food label evaluations a routine part of your shopping, you will become more knowledgeable and conscious about food and naturally more aware of the amount of fat you eat. Remember: compulsive eating leads to guilt, more compulsive eating and ultimately to defeat and resignation. Stay aware, make conscious choices, learn form your experiences, and stay with your plan. As Gandhi once said, "We cannot in a moment get rid of the habits of a lifetime."Article Source: http://www.nulife-weightloss.com/articlesRichard Helfant, MD, a Harvard-trained cardiologist. Courageous Confrontations, Dr. Helfant's latest work, is about how to use the mind-body relationship to combat disease. Many stories in the book include examples of diet and weight loss.

Shake, Shake, Shake: Your Booty, That Is!

If you ask most women what one area of their body needs help most, they would probably say, "My backside!" Before we get into this subject in detail, it is important to make one thing clear, the genetic makeup is different for everyone. You may be able to firm and tone your gluteus maximus, but don't be fooled into thinking it will melt down to a perfect size by exercising it off.Originating from the Latin word meaning largest, gluteus maximus refers to that part of the thigh muscle which is the largest portion of the buttocks. There are three glutes which make up your butt muscle; the maximus; medius; and minimus. Unfortunately, the medius and minimus (don't you just love these words!) are hardly every noticeable. There is no need to tell you again what the larger muscle is, right? These three muscles allow you to move. Since the booty is more than one muscle, it stands to reason why there would be a wide variety of exercises to shape and strengthen it. Now that you know what the booty is; the make-up of it; it's time to exercise it.Joining a gym would be ideal. They have equipment specifically designed for this area of your body. The importance of understanding how to exercise these muscles can only be explained by a professional. Once he or she takes into account your body type, overall health, and the level at which you can exercise, you will be able to properly participate in this regimen. Remember too, a proper diet along with exercise can yield far better results than just the latter alone. Here are some typical exercises used to strengthen and tone your booty. Squats; plie squats; lunges; hamstring curls; leg extensions; walking up stairs; using a treadmill; and walking up a hill or steep incline. Yes, this reads like a novel from hell, but rest assured it does work. Remember the Richard Simmons tapes? They were and still are all the rage. Dare I say, however, most of us probably pop in the DVD just to hear the fabulous music? Let's face it; the music really does make you want to move, right? Since you have the DVD in the player, why not exercise as well? Lunge forward to the coffee table and dust it; don't take the elevator, walk up to your apartment door. Squat and pick up the crumbs from the kitchen floor. Get the picture?Whether you play music to lower your blood pressure; bring back a long forgotten memory, or exercise; it does account for definite changes within your body. So the next time you go to the gym, or go for a walk; bring your portable CD player with you and let the music move you! Shake your booty; relieve the stress; and enjoy the high. Empower yourself; you'll never know what you can accomplish until you try.Patricia has been interested in weight loss & fitness since the early 70's and knows the difference between hype & fact. Arthritis Pain Relief - You Can Get Rid Of Your Arthritis Pain Naturally

A few years ago I accidentally discovered how to rid myself of arthritis pain, naturally. I got rid of my arthritis and arthritis pain forever by changing my diet. Unlike some other types of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis is not systemic; it does not spread through the entire body. Arthritis concentrates in one or several joints where deterioration occurs. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis. The synovium is a membrane that surrounds the whole joint; it's filled with synovial fluid, a lubricating liquid that supplies nutrients and oxygen to the cartilage. Cartilage contains a high percentage of water, but it decreases with age. Joints are designed for normal and painless movement and are primarily supplied by the synovium and cartilage. As chondrocytes (the cells that make up cartilage) age, they lose their ability to make repairs and produce more cartilage; this process may play an important role in the development and progression of osteoarthritis. Injuries sometimes can be the start in the arthritic disease process; osteoarthritis can develop years later even after a single traumatic injury to a joint or near a joint. An inflammatory response causes cytokines, to gather in injured areas and cause inflammation and damage to body tissue and cells; it's known to play a role in rheumatoid arthritis and other muscle and joint problems associated with autoimmune diseases. If you really want to get rid of your arthritis pain forever it may take a radical change in your diet and an ongoing commitment. One natural treatment method involves avoiding all inflammatory foods. Try massaging your fingers or other affected joints with coconut oil twice a day.Keep in mind, if you take a joint supplement it should help do three things -- build cartilage, relieve everyday joint pain, and enhance your flexibility and movement. Many have told me that going off dairy products and gluten containing foods relieved their arthritis pain entirely. Some people swear by glucosamine and/or chondroitin and others say it didn't help at all.An acidic diet, that is any foods not alive, is considered to be inflammatory to the joints. For snacks, choose raw nuts without salt instead of lifeless roasted nuts. Natural treatment for arthritis is usually a better choice because it's non-invasive to the body. Many arthritis sufferers have changed their diets and noticed significant or total improvement. To be on the safe side always seek your doctor's advice before starting or changing your exercise program. Exercise in a heated pool; it will help reduce the pressure on your joints and the heat will help you loosen those joints. Your body has 147 joints in motion every day. Even the lightest exercise can go a long way to maintaining your joint mobility and overall health. If you have pain and swelling in your fingers, try squeezing Thera-putty made for this purpose or exercising with two Chinese chime balls. Fight arthritis through proper exercise! Try to keep painful joint areas in motion, even in a limited manner. If you're going to go the conventional treatment route and take medications, ask your pharmacist for drug inserts so you can read up on the drugs and understand any side effects or adverse reactions, before taking them. Be aware that the use of NSAIDs or Cox-2 inhibitors do not halt the progress of osteoarthritis and may even hasten the onset. Once you become more informed about arthritis you'll be able to plan an arthritis treatment program, natural or conventional or a combination of both. Changing your diet to predominately fruits and raw veggies, like I did, can turn your arthritis pain around almost overnight. More and more doctors are investigating the benefits of alternative therapies and most don't object to patients trying them. One should not only search for relief of arthritis pain but work on preventing it.For more information on arthritis pain relief and arthritis treatments go to Helen Hecker R.N.'s http://www.FastArthritisPainRelief.com specializing in arthritis pain relief with tips, advice and resources including information on arthritis diets and natural arthritis treatments
